His given name derives from a corruption of the word killer according to the director, Fukuda. This way of using Kira is also found in the manga Death Note.) For other use of the name, which literally means great peace, see Yamato. However, it must be noted that Kira Yamato's name, mostly written in Katakana not in Kanji or Hiragana. Yamato was also the name of a famous WWII Battleship. + According the Suit CD, Athrun used to tutor Kira when they went to school on the moon. Kira, compared to the reserved person we see in Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny, was actually rather loud as a child. + Despite the fact that he and Cagalli Yula Athha are twin siblings, Cagalli claims that Kira is her little brother. It may be due to Kira's meek nature in the first series. It should be noted that while Cagalli was born naturally, Kira was born from an artificial womb.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FUN STUFF TO KNOW ABOUT LACUS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ + In the first series, Lacus Clyne is nicknamed Pink Princess and the Songstress. In the second series, the appellation White Queen is often used to describe her, as she appears to be represented as such on Gilbert Dullindal's chess board. + It is unconfirmed whether Lacus has the ability to go into SEED mode or not. In episode 49 of Gundam SEED, her pupils become dilated, like other characters who go into SEED mode, after Lacus gives a discourse about war and death, but no accompanying seed explosion is seen. The same dilation is seen in Episode 50 of Gundam Seed Destiny when Lacus becomes aware of Kira's battle with Rey Za Burrel, again with no seed explosion. In the game SD Gundam G Generation DS, Lacus has the ability to go into SEED mode after your forces take a considerable amount of damage. But that might have just been for fans. Lacus also is shown to have SEED capabilities in the PS2 game Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny: Generation of CE. It should be noted that Lacus is reportedly only usable as a MS pilot after completing the game, so the cannonicity of her powers is questionable

Kira and Lacus In Love:
Their meeting was unexpected and their first meeting was when Lacus's escape pod was secured by the Archangel battleship. She meets Kira, who treats her with both kindness as well as respect. Lacus thinks of him highly and also gives him the Freedom Gundam. They later get together and have a close relationship. After the war, they both lived together in a cabin next to the beach while taking care of orphan children together. They both now live in a beach house after the destruction of their cabin due to a big wave. Lacus cares greatly for Kira and they both love each other.
What I think About Kira and Lacus's Love
Lacus and Kira feel comfortable around each other, they share a strong connection unlike any other on the shows, its a emotional, soulful, one can say spiritual connection. You can tell that when they look into each others eyes they can see each other souls and futures, and their love for each other. They understand each other so well, they understand what each other needs or wants even without talking just by looking at each other. They both understand both pain and happiness. But they understand that as long as they are together they can always find the light at the end of the tunnel. They can ease each other as pain and always comforting each other. They share the same innocence of life together, their dreams of peace and happiness for themselves as well as for others, and the wanting of being together forever. They hold hands a lot, when they do it is as if they are sharing their destiny hand in hand. When ever Kira is in danger Lacus worries her self to death and tries what ever way she can to help him. Kira always tries his hardest and beyond to save or help his Lacus. The thought of the other in danger hurts them so much, because they both mean the world to each other, and need each other to live.

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny volume 1 in America was released on 3/14/06 Sunday, April 23, 2006 Destiny Special Edition II details Sunrise posted that the 2nd SE, entitled Sorezore No Tsurugi ( Every Sword , Respective Swords ), will cover from episode 14 of the tv series through episode 28. Tuesday, April 18, 2006 SEED SE streams During the Golden Week holidays, Bandai Channel will have each of the 3 SEED Special Edition available for free through their site. Schedules are: Special Edition I - April 29 Special Edition II - April 30 Special Edition III - May 1 In some what related news, customers of NTT Flet's broadband will able to watch DESTINY Special Edition starting May 12.
